If you don’t want to resort to Botox, fillers, or even a facelift, there are other things you can try to combat the signs of aging. While surfing the web, I came across face taping and decided to give it a try. I love that it’s quick, noninvasive, painless, and budget-friendly. No, it’s not going to give you the instant results you get from Botox, but I was curious to see whether this simple technique could make a difference over time.
What is Face Taping?
Face taping is a beauty technique where specially designed adhesive tape is placed on areas of the face, often the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes, cheeks, or jaw, to gently hold the skin in place. The idea is to minimize some of the repetitive facial movements that can contribute to the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles.
Face tape can be worn for a few hours during the day or applied before bed and worn overnight. The technique has become popular among people looking for a simple way to temporarily smooth the appearance of fine lines without using injections or other more invasive treatments.

What to Expect When Taping your Face
Unlike Botox, face taping will not give you instant results. After removing the tape, you may notice a slight smoothing of your wrinkles, but as the day goes by and you make your normal facial expressions, those wrinkles may gradually become noticeable again.
Having said that, the more consistently you use face tape, the more you may notice a difference in the appearance of certain expression lines. The tape helps keep the skin in place while you’re wearing it, and with regular use, you may find that some lines appear less noticeable than they did before.
Just keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different, so your results may vary. Face taping isn’t a replacement for professional treatments, but if you’re looking for a simple addition to your beauty routine, it may be worth trying.
How I apply Face Tape
Rather than trying to explain exactly how I apply my face tape, I made a video to show you. You’ll be able to see exactly where I apply the tape and how I apply it.
Keep in mind that everyone’s face is different, so once you start using face tape, you may want to focus on the areas that bother you the most.

I wondered if this worked. It sure makes sense. I wonder if I am too far gone for it!
It’s never too late too start if you ask me. It’s important to know there are options out there that don’t require needles and hundreds of dollars.
I have never heard of face taping before, but it definitely sounds like a better option than botox. I am not fond of needles, but taping is something I could try!
I felt the same way when I first started taping my face. It’s non invasive and super easy, so I had to try it.
I’m curious about face taping now, especially the idea of wearing it overnight. The video showing exactly how you apply the tape makes trying it much easier.
I’ve seen one of my favorite drag queens do this, and it’s amazing how much of a difference it can make! I haven’t tried doing this myself yet, but it’s good to know how. Thanks for sharing this tutorial!
What an interesting technique for softening expression lines; I’m really curious about it. It’s innovative and seems less invasive than other methods.
I so agree with you. It’s painless and effective.
This is something I’ve never even heard of. But if it works, that’s great. Better than other alternatives for sure.
It was new to me too at one point. So much to discover our there — it’s amazing 😉
The honest note that lines can creep back once you start making expressions again is useful. Overnight taping as a low-cost add-on, not a Botox substitute, feels like the right framing.
I’ve been seeing face taping everywhere lately, so it was interesting to read about your experience with it. I like that you’re realistic about the results and don’t present it as a replacement for Botox.
Thank you Ebony. I always aim to give a realistic view of what you can expect. That way, it can never dissappoint. Also, I’ve never had Botox, so I can’t really speak on that either, but from general knowledge Botox gets rid of the winkles in a much more invasive manner, while facetaping results are gradual and won’t eliminate wrinkles completely. Thank you for stopping by the blog. xo
I’ve heard of Face Taping and, as you pointed out Kimberly, results will vary. It’s definitely not a quick fix, but it can help soften lines over time or, at least, give one something to do for the face.
It reminds me of those skin tightening masks that are more of a feel good option with minimal results than a wow all wrinkles gone experience.
Results are definately not instant, but slow and steady wins the race 😉
