$9.99 Foundation vs. $50 Foundation: And the Winner is… – Video

In this new YouTube video, a $9.99 drugstore foundation goes up against a $50 viral high-end one. To find out who wins, watch till the end. Don’t forget to subscribe to the Kimberly Worldwide YouTube Channel.

Why Foundation is So Important?

Foundation is an essential part of a makeup routine. It forms the base for all other products. Therefore, making sure that it meets all your demands is essential. What we don’t want is ‘cake face’. That mask-like coverage that is visible to the eye and appears to others as if your skin is cracking. What we do want is a flawless, natural finish that resembles your own skin to the point where it’s hard to see the difference between the two. In this video, the $9.99 foundation is actually my go-to. Having used many different makeup brands, I have yet to find one that can out-do it — both result and price wise. I was just as curious as you to see how this test would go. Is the hype around this high-end makeup really justified? Is more expensive really better? It’s time to find out.

I don’t use foundation, but my older girls do, and they have used a much cheaper brand and found that foundation worked as well. I will also say it depends on the brand as well. Great post

    1. Thank you for stopping by the blog. I also agree on the quality depending on the brand. Some affordable brands are terrible, but then again, some high-end are also not the greatest.

  7. I personally think its not how expensive a foundation is its the type that suits your skin type and colour and sometimes you find cheaper ones can offer a better match.

    1. Very true Nayna. Thanks for checking out the blog.

  8. I prefer drugstore foundation, just because I am not that into make-up and wouldn’t spend more than £50 on a make-up set. But you’ve highlighted good points here.

  9. Oh wow, 50 dollars for makeup is a lot of money spent. Even I would love to see it in action.

  10. There are times when spending the extra money is very much worth it. However, a high price tag does not always mean quality.

    1. That is so very true. Expensive doesn’t always equal good quality.
